electric!

tesla all electric battery powered roadster outside the Westin. think they must have some deal going with the Westin since there are two spaces in the basement specially reserved for Tesla with a big Tesla logo on the wall. this photo was taken outside where the car is parked where everyone can see and still has plastic wrap covering the steering wheel and driver's seat, and a Tesla license plate. Good way to get some relatively quiet exposure!

shrine!

shrines in the most random places sometimes. this one on a rooftop of a business building. it doesn't look like a very well traveled or visited shrine though. maybe they had to relocate the temple on the space when they built the building?

lit up

a little early for Christmas but the purplish lights lighting up the top of an office connected to Tokyo station do add a festive flair to an otherwise not so interesting scene

Polestar!?

How about staying at the Polestar hotel in Sapporo next time you are there!

found out after walking a few steps the Self Defence Forces were there to support the fire department who were showing off their new toys - robot fire fighters and bomb disposal units!

ramdom military vehicle in Tokyo's business district...

stuck!

stuck Posted by Picasa

this is apparently not the first time a container truck has got stuck under the bridge right north of Tokyo station. they took a welding torch and ended up cutting the container with tv crew filming the whole event. I wonder why they didn't just let the air out of the tires to see if they could lower the whole thing. maybe that would be too easy?
